Marshall Craft Associates is currently designing a new 28,000 SF Crisis Stabilization Center to be located in Elkton, Maryland. The vision of the center is to create a peer driven recovery/resilience based crisis center for a brief stay of one to ten days that uses an integrated approach to address a person’s mental health crisis, substance use challenges and physical health needs.
The design concept recognizes that peer support is one of the most significant tools that an individual can use on their journey to recovery, resilience and wellness. The design will utilize a Living Room concept to serve adults seeking voluntary support. The Living Room will have a blended staff of peer support specialist, medical/psychiatric providers, nurses and behavioral health specialists and will be licensed as a Crisis Residential Service Center.
The second floor of the building will house two outpatient behavioral health clinics to offer a continuum of care to those individuals who have progressed past crisis management.
