Principals + Merrill A. Messick, III
A 1983 Graduate of the College of Architecture at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Mr. Messick contributes over three decades of experience in successful project and design firm management. In 2013 he was elected to the position of Vice President/Treasurer by the Board of Directors. He is responsible for the implementation of our Quality Control systems, as well as management of our short and long range financial planning. He also provides leadership for MCA's design teams in the Civic and Enterprise sectors. Mr. Messick has developed long-term, multi-project relationships with many of our clients. His strong organizational and team management skills coupled with his knowledge of applicable codes and experience in all phases of project development, from program analysis through construction, serve to assure the successful completion of each project. He is experienced at managing multiple simultaneous projects and has particular expertise in managing projects that require phased construction to accommodate occupied facilities. He promotes a high level of client involvement throughout the development of each project to assure that their goals are achieved in the design. His diverse project portfolio gives him the background to devise creative design solutions to meet each client's specific needs.
