The existing school comprised four significant building sections built over 54 years, resulting in a fragmented building with floor levels that did not align. Substantial renovation and addition consolidated existing building segments into a single, homogenous school; provide for flexibility as the school’s needs change; and create a more functional, attractive, safe, and efficient facility. The addition creates a new learning resource center and secure main entrance.
- Repurposing of space, combined with substantial renovation and judicious addition
- Significant site development developed a new bus access road and new vehicular traffic flow into and around campus
- Grade clusters provide rooms for large and small group instruction, special education, and academic intervention
- At project conclusion, CCPS contracted with MCA to develop new standard construction specifications for the school system using the specifications for this project as a basis
