Marshall Craft Associates (MCA) designed the renovation and addition of the new Radiation Oncology Center, which is owned and operated jointly by Union Hospital and the University of Maryland Medical Center. The new center offers onsite treatment planning, as well as onsite imaging, internal modular radiation therapy and selective internal radiation therapy. The selected building to be renovated and expanded was currently housing an adult daycare center. MCA proved that no deadline is too daunting, as we worked close with the owner and general contractor to design and relocate the adult daycare center, and design and construct the new radiation oncology center, all within a 10 month period.

Two key components of MCA’s design process make all the difference: their insistence on a genuine exchange of ideas and information between the designers and all the stakeholders in a project, and their ability to look at projects in new ways and re-imagine how a space might work.—Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Operations Officer , Union Hospital of Cecil County
