Before embarking on a second career in architecture, Naomi was an accomplished communications and public relations practitioner with nearly two decades of experience. Naomi has a solid track record of formulating and leading initiatives to effectively manage marketing communications, stakeholder engagement, media relations, recruitment, and community relations. She spent 13 years of her career working for Bechtel, a global engineering and construction company. During her tenure with Bechtel, Naomi helped the company create a lasting positive legacy in the communities it served. Her experience working with people from corporate headquarters and community meeting rooms to construction sites has instilled in her the importance of plain talk, collaboration, and focusing on finding common ground.

While pursuing her education in architecture, Naomi cultivated a passion for healthcare design because she believes in the healing power of thoughtfully curated built environments. Part of her academic work included serving as a research assistant on two projects funded by the National Institute of Health to study community health clinics in Baltimore.

In addition to her marketing role, Naomi continues to be a member of Marshall Craft’s healthcare studio, having worked on several key behavioral health projects, a family birth center, and patient room and support space innovations.
