University of Maryland
Shore Medical Campus at Cambridge
Marshall Craft designed the new freestanding medical facility for the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health to bring ambulatory, emergency care, and multi-specialty services under one roof and to provide a key community resource to Dorchester County residents. The new two-story, 81,000-square-foot building also features a 6,500-square-foot ambulatory surgery center that is fully equipped for endoscopy procedures. The single operating room and secondary procedure room are served by six prep and recovery stations, including one negative pressure airborne infection isolation room.
Marshall Craft integrated all of the key medical equipment into the decontamination and sterile processing rooms, including pass-through Medivators for scope cleaning and Cantel scope drying cabinets. Careful consideration was given to the instrument processing flow and differential air pressures between rooms to avoid any cross contamination.
